FAQs
Where are you licensed to practice?
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New York State. This means I can provide therapy to clients who are physically located anywhere in New York State, even when sessions are conducted via telehealth from your home.
Do you take insurance?
I work out-of-network, which means I don’t accept insurance directly. However, I can provide superbills (itemized receipts) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement—depending on your out-of-network mental health benefits.
Tip: Call your insurance provider and ask: “What are my out-of-network benefits for telehealth therapy with an LMSW?”
What are your hours?
Sessions are virtual. My normal hours are:
Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Appointments are scheduled in advance.
What concerns do you work with?
I specialize in therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma (including EMDR therapy), chronic illness, women’s health, self-esteem, stress, and life transitions. I also work with children, adolescents, and parents, supporting emotional wellness, social skills, academic stress, and family dynamics.
Are you under supervision?
Yes, I am currently supervised by Sarah Hughes, LCSW.
Do you offer telehealth sessions?
Yes. All sessions are held virtually via a HIPAA-compliant platform for anyone located in New York State, making therapy accessible and confidential. You can access sessions from anywhere in New York State.
What is your cancellation policy?
I request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. If a session is canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full fee will be charged.
How much does therapy cost?
My standard fee is $150 per session. I offer a sliding scale based on financial need. If cost is a barrier, please reach out, and we can discuss options. Superbills are available for possible reimbursement depending on your insurance.
What should I expect in my first session?
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other: what brought you to therapy, your history, and your goals. You don’t need to have your thoughts perfectly organized—you can share at your own pace. We’ll start building trust and outlining how I can best support you.
What if I’ve never been to therapy before?
It’s normal to feel nervous or unsure about therapy—many people feel that way. Simply showing up is the most important step. My role is to provide a safe, supportive space so you can begin to explore your experiences, concerns, and hopes at your own pace.
Still have questions?
I offer a free 20-minute consultation where you can ask questions, learn more about how I work, and see if we’re a good fit.
